We have been saved to serve - Session 2

Scripture reference:

Mark 3:13-14 King James Version (KJV) 13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. 14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

Good morning saints, notice that in today’s verses Jesus called them to be with Him, Our calling and assignment are to be with Christ first and foremost. That is when discipleship, training, and mentorship occur before you go and carry out your assignment, you have to be trained. In the natural we understand this very well you cannot be a doctor, or lawyer engineer until you have gone through thorough training academically but in the kingdom where we deal with eternity stuff, people want to just rush into the work claiming passion is pushing them. The work exists before you were born and will continue after you have gone, you only have a part a fraction to contribute, In 1 Tim 3 vs 15 Apostle Paul was saying that in the house of God there is a different way to behave and act, and you and I have to learn that by training. After Jesus the word Himself disciple and trained the 12 for three and half years at his death Peter already denied Him and went back to his fishing business with five others,

Thomas was still a doubter, Judas had betrayed Him, and James and John were occupied with fighting for superiority, and these were the people that Jesus was preparing to take over from Him, it took fifty days after His resurrection on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit outpouring according to Acts 2 vs 1-4  on them and others that heeded His last command to tarry in Jerusalem that the empowerment came for them to be able to activate what Jesus has been putting into them through training and they were able to carry out their assignment and ministry. Therefore it takes the combination of training and the Holy Spirit empowerment for one to be fully discipled and be trained for ministry, that is why many that went through some form of theological schooling but are still not discipled enough for ministry remember the letter kills it is the spirit that gives life. Have a blessed day, God bless.
