Your dream must be crucified, buried and rise again
Ten years ago this time I ran with my family to our Mentor Bishop Makhanda, going to get advise on the death threats we received from our own community. When people of your community, of your race, language and faith push you to a point of death threats with your family, only the likes of Bishop Makhanda will pull you out with the counsel from the Lord.
You see, Paul of the Bible ran away from death threats from the people of his language, race and faith. How did we come here with my family? Were these not just stories of the Bible? Well it was not a story anymore and this was not a dream of the sleeping, but a dream of the awakened and it needed a Dream Interpreter. There was no way of running away from it by just waking up, we needed a Word that will be a refuge from the Lord. How did we get to this point, was my question earlier. Let me begin from the start.
If you have been in the hands of Bishop Makhanda, the ministry you will carry is Empowering the Communities. Well it does not sound biblical at all but, when he arrived from the exiled lands he did not return with the mandate of the political party he returned with the mandate from The Lord of Heavens. We listened to him attentively he kept on folding his blue bisht ( Arabic name for traditional men’s cloak normally worn by government of religious leaders). In 2012 we went around in our communities sharing our dream in empowering communities in the educational sector. As we were both from Engineering background with Lumko’s Mom we were burdened with the levels of Science and Mathematics and the rest is history.
With high expectations from our Christian Brothers and Sisters as well as our own community, we stood at the doors of the new school in January 2013 and none of them appeared. We were instead embraced by a neighboring community from mostly non Christian background. We thought that was all, but the community we were in rallied around the parents of the neighboring community not to attend our school. “Truly I tell you,” he continued, “no prophet is accepted in his hometown. Luke 4:24 – That was Jesus, we thought. It did not end there, fellow Christian brothers and sisters joined the hometown and they had a strong case because of the backing of some leaders of our own faith. Remembering the teachings of our Bishop we did not mind until this day when death threats, the burning of the house from baseless allegations came to light. We trusted our “Christian” teachers as well as the “Christian” Landlord without knowing that thy planned this together and took it to parents. Well we lost all the children and the teachers went to open other schools and joined together with an existing “Christian” School in the area. “When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. – Matthew 27:35 (i share all these verses in hind sight)
From this background our Bishop answers: “Truly this vision is from God, for unless your dream is crucified, killed, buried and rise on its third day – it will never testify the Jesus Test. Return to your crucifiers for you are called to serve them. The Love of God has been put aside for us to win back our crucifiers. You say they are of your own race, language and faith, so were those who accused our Lord Jesus Christ. You say you are facing death threats, ask Paul about those of his faith, language and race. Go back and face those who demand your blood and see how God will save you from their hand. Thank God they have killed the school, at least you are in phase 2 of the Jesus test let us wait for the burial and the resurrection of the vision.” He gave us a blessing and released us. It is 10 years today and the dream lives on.
My message to you is that your dream must be crucified, buried and rise again. Thank God you are crucified by your fellow political party comrades, your dream is from God. Your colleagues are witnesses against you in courts and the media is covering your story. You are fired as a manager in your workplace and you remain with an irreparable reputation. Your country that you worked so hard for is asking you to fall on your sword and no company in your own country will ever employ you again. Your academic qualifications are withdrawn from the institutions of learning you served. The national governing board of your denomination withdraws the ordination they have given to you. My message to you is that your dream must be crucified, buried and rise again.
In conclusion, a Muslim man who did not know anything about our Christian reputation was sent as a destiny helper. The man in question was of a different language and race, he was not from our country but from foreign land. In the shame and nakedness he refused to choose the nature of Ham but chose that of Shem and Japheth in covering the nakedness of Noah. (John 19:38-42 Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away. He was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who earlier had visited Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds. Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs. At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there. (NIV)
After my Christian Brothers and Sisters heard of his help they tried to convince him to backstab us. “Your Christian Brothers came to me and asked me to backstab you but i refused because I may not know anything about your Christian issues but I know that this vision of yours is from Allah – he said.
Your dream must be crucified, buried and rise again. Your dream is neither Christian, Muslim but your dream is from the Lord God Almighty. It is neither of your political party, government or your company or organization, it is from the Father of Spirits. It is not confined to your race, language or faith, it will rise again. Do not limit your dream to those of your own, do not hate them when they crucify your dream. Do not hate them when they even put guards to seal the tomb of your vision. Continue to love them crucifiers, continue to serve your haters with the Love of God.
